I’m thrilled to share that HW Designs has been accepted to sell art and fabric goods at the 2026 Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival on the Big Island of Hawai‘i! This beautiful community event celebrates the blooming of historic cherry trees in Church Row Park in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawai‘i County, and draws visitors from around the island and beyond.
The Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival is a beloved annual tradition that began in the early 1990s and honors the age-old Japanese practice of hanami—the appreciation of cherry blossoms in bloom. Today, the festival brings together locals and visitors alike to enjoy Hanami under pink cherry blossoms, multicultural performances, traditional music and dance, craft vendors, food booths, and hands-on experiences like mochi pounding, tea ceremonies, origami, and more.
🗓 Event Date & Time:
Saturday, February 7, 2026;
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
🗺 Location: Parker Ranch Center, Church Row Park and multiple venues throughout Waimea on the Big Island of Hawai‘i. Admission is free.
This year’s festival pays tribute to long-time local volunteers who helped plant and care for the cherry trees that make this vibrant celebration possible.
✨ I’ll be there with my latest Hawai‘i-inspired fabric designs, art prints, cards, and craft fair favorites, and the latest Mōhala design in a 27"x27" tea towel. I’d love to connect with you in person! Make a day of it—come stroll the blossoms, enjoy local cuisine, and support Hawai‘i artists at this iconic Big Island spring festival.
